Russian-speaking residents of New York are waiting for Mayor de Blasio at the festival "Our Heritage"

The 4th American Russian Heritage Month festival kicks off on June 13 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The program includes musical concerts, dance performances, exhibitions, sporting events, and business fairs. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who attends the festival annually, is expected to attend.

According to the city mayor, “the Russian-speaking community participates in a variety of spheres of life and has already become an integral part of New York.” At the opening of the festival last year, de Blasio even tried to speak Russian.

Alexander Levin, president of the World Forum of Russian-Speaking Jewry and leader of the Russian-speaking community of New York, noted that the entire community was waiting for the mayor at the opening of the event, since “they voted for him with an absolute majority.”

The actions of Bill de Blasio convincingly all words prove that he is a faithful friend of Israel. The principled position of this prominent American politician should set an example for the entire US government institution.

The annual festival “The Month of the Russian Heritage of America” was established on the initiative of the “Russian-American Foundation” with the participation of the city of New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Daily News newspaper in 2003.
