The Russian sued the magazine for immigration campaign in the US
A Russian filed a lawsuit in the Simonovsky Court of Moscow against the women's magazine Elle demanding to refute the publication, which, in his opinion, promotes emigration “to a hostile America,” reported RIA News on Thursday, the representative of the plaintiff, providing a copy of the document.
“The defendant distributes advertising through its own website in the form of the text “Which country is right for you?” This text is a customized provocation to incite hatred between Russian citizens, based on highlighting their desires and pushing them to move to other countries in order to reduce the population of Russia and create a destabilized situation in the country,” the lawsuit says.
According to the man, the publication is a test with questions, on the basis of the answers to which the site offers a result. The plaintiff believes that the United States is most often the most favorable country for the reader.
Thus, the plaintiff demands the court to oblige the women's magazine ELLE “to carry out a public refutation of false advertising at its own expense.”
