Russia will open a university in Georgia: education there will be free
The head of the Georgian-Russian Public Center named after Yevgeny Primakov in Tbilisi, Dmitry Lortkipanidze, announced the opening of a new educational institution in Georgia with Russian money, reports “Ukrainian Truth".

Lortkipanidze said that a search is underway for a territory where the university will be opened, it will be fully staffed by the Russian side.
“The issue of creating a Georgian-Russian university is now being specifically discussed. At this stage, we are looking for a suitable place to locate this educational institution,” Lortkipanidze said.

According to him, education at the university will be free, and the Russian Federation will cover the financing costs.
Tbilisi regards the attempt to open a Russian university in Georgia as a new wave of Russian expansion and notes that such universities create an expansion of the influence of Russian politics in Georgia.

According to education experts, the Russian Federation uses education as an ideological mechanism. The opening of a Russian university in Georgia means that the Georgian side is pursuing Russian interests.
Dmitry Lortkipanidze was one of the first passengers on a direct flight from Moscow to Tbilisi on May 20 after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree resuming direct flights to Georgia.
