Under the KFC fast-food restaurant in San Luis, Arizona, they found a tunnel used by drug traffickers to move drugs from Mexico to the United States.
The hole leading to the tunnel was made in the concrete floor in the kitchen of an abandoned KFC restaurant. Lenta.ru report.
From the US side, the hole was a diameter of only about 20 centimeters. On the other hand, the tunnel emerged under the bed in one of the houses in the city of San Luis Rio Colorado.
It was possible to detect the passage after the usual check of a car stopped on the road. In the trailer, they found two boxes full of tools full of drugs. Their total weight was 168 kilograms, including 118 kilograms of methamphetamine, six for cocaine, three for fentanyl, and 19 for kilograms of heroin.
Behind the wheel was Ivan Lopez, who owns the room where the KFC restaurant was previously located. Therefore, the police went to the building with a search. As a result, he was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of their further distribution.
The passage was most likely built just a few months ago. Its length is 180 meters, it was located at a depth of about 6,5 meters. The tunnel at the end of the investigation will be flooded with concrete. Since 2007, this is the fifth such passage found.
