84 baby has already died from a flu epidemic in the USA
The worst flu season of the decade continues to take the lives of people, including children. According to the latest data received on Friday, February 16, another 22 child died. The total number of children killed by the flu was 84 man, writes USA Today.

The latest update, published by the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also shows that flu remains widespread in 48 states.
At the press conference, CDC Acting Director Ann Shuchat said that the flu season this year will last longer than the usual 12 weeks.
“This flu season continues to be extremely challenging and intense, with very high hospitalization rates, indicating high flu activity and likely to continue for several more weeks,” she said.
This year, the vaccine against influenza prevents about 36% of cases of influenza in vaccinated people, but best protects young children from the disease - 59%, reports the CDC. The report says that the vaccine is less effective, about 25%, while preventing diseases caused by the dominant virus this year.
Doctors say that such a large-scale epidemic in the United States began because of the H3N2 virus. In recent years, it is the most common type of flu, and from season to season it mutates, causing more and more serious complications.
The most confirmed risk of complications from influenza is the elderly, children and people with weak immune systems.
According to the report, most of the children who died this year were not vaccinated. The same trend with infant mortality during influenza was in previous years, according to a study published this week.
