One child died and two were burned by an exploded hoverboard.

The fire that started because of a hoverboard fire in one of the houses in Harrisburg, Pa., Had tragic consequences: the 3-year-old girl died and 2 children are in critical condition.

The incident occurred on March 10 near 20: 00, reports New York Post.

The family in the house heard a characteristic crash, which was heard from the hoverboard standing on the charge side. After a few seconds, the device exploded and a fire started in the room. At that moment there were a man, a teenage boy and 3 girls in it.

One of them, 3-year-old Ashanti Hughes, received life-threatening injuries - burns to 95% of her body. Doctors at one of the local hospitals did everything possible to save the child, but Ashanti died before noon the next day.

2 girls are still in critical condition. A man and a teenager received minor injuries.

In connection with the incident, a federal investigation began to check how dangerous hoverboards can be used. To do this, investigators are trying to obtain the maximum possible amount of information about what happened from the affected family.

One of the key questions to be answered by the investigation is whether the exploded hoverboard was one of 501 thousands of models of these products that were recalled by the Federal Agency in 2016 after several models made in China with lithium-ion batteries ignited due to overheating.

Since the fall of 2015, hoverboards have caused more 60 fires in the United States, but Ashanti Hughes has become the first victim of such fires.

In this story there is another victim: 21-year-old fire lieutenant Dennis Devoay was the victim of an unfortunate set of circumstances. Devoe got in an accident on the way to a burning house, he was hospitalized in critical condition and died in the hospital. This accident happened because of a teenager who is intoxicated, who, according to police, drove a stolen vehicle. He is now awaiting trial in this case.
