A man, having lost his job, killed his mother and wounded his father
On Long Island, a 29-year-old man was arrested after he slaughtered his mother and injured his father, police said.

According to the Nassau County custody order, the man, identified as Jan Caser, apparently had a bad time with his parents at their home in Sissetts. The altercation occurred on Wednesday evening after being dismissed from the post of cashier in a local store in the morning.
Lt. Nassau Police Assassination Investigation Officer Stephen Fitzpatrick said he received a call on 911 on Wednesday. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found two people with incised wounds.
“It appears there was a fight between the son and his parents because he had previously been fired. The dispute later escalated and became violent,” Fitzpatrick said.
Another victim's son said that his brother had problems with dismissal in the past. However, he also added that his brother does not have a history of mental illness or violence.
"Everybody has their arguments, but there's nothing to indicate anything like that," said the victims' son, Evan Kaser.
He added that "still can not believe in the reality of what happened."
The suspect's 66-year-old mother, Francis, a retired Queens teacher, was wounded in the upper torso and in the neck. She died from injuries. His 69-year-old father, Howard, received one wound and was hospitalized in a stable condition.
Police report that Yang has been hospitalized and is undergoing a psychological examination.
“This is a wonderful family, very kind, and it’s all very tragic,” said the family’s neighbor, Doreen. “It’s just heartbreaking.”
Police report that Yang is accused of murder and attempted murder, but it is not yet known when he will appear before the court.
