The Turks shot down a Russian military aircraft, which participated in a military operation in Syria. Ankara says that it violated its airspace, the Kremlin denies this.

Reports that Russian planes violate Turkish airspace first appeared in early autumn, a few days after Russia began bombing targets in Syria. Then Turkish President Recep Erdogan warned KReml from further intrusions.
