The personal secretary of the Archbishop of Tiraspol Savva, Archimandrite Benedict Circus, sang the murky song “Murka” during the parish meal.

He was immediately noticed major media. The video caused a resonance in society. In just a few hours, the video gathered over 50 thousands of views.

User comments are divided into those who called the incident “a trifle”, and those who considered it “unacceptable”.

The official leadership of the church also responded.

A spokesman for the Moscow Patriarch Kirill, the priest Alexander Volkov, said that this behavior of the Circus was “beyond the limits of permissible”

“The video that appeared today, where a priest in a cassock, with a cross, in what appears to be a church house, sings a criminal song about a lesson from Odessa is beyond the bounds of the possible and acceptable. It doesn’t matter what our brothers do at home, although we must hope that most of them are nothing reprehensible. But at a church meal, in the presence of other priests and laity, singing “Murka” is below the dignity of a person bearing the priestly rank,” he wrote on his page on the social network Facebook.

Later edition “Columnist”Reported that the Moscow Patriarch Kirill expelled the outraged priest from Moscow.

“The video in which the priest, Archimandrite Venedikt (Circus), performed the song “Murka” in the refectory of one of the Moscow churches was reported to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, the ruling bishop of the city of Moscow. The priest is instructed today to leave the Moscow diocese and go to the Tiraspol diocese, of which he is a clergyman, under the archpastoral supervision of the ruling bishop,” said the patriarch’s press secretary, priest Alexander Volkov.

The priest performed “Murka” in front of the dinner participants in the Orekhovo-Borisovo district of Moscow, in the church in honor of the “Three-Handed” Icon of the Mother of God.
