"Islamic State" declared the North Caucasus as its province

A province (wilayat) of the “Islamic State” has been formed on the territory of the North Caucasus. This is reported in the information material, published by on american site Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

There is also a link to audio recording statements by Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, the second-in-command of the Islamic State terrorist group and spokesman for the Supreme Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

According to al-Adnani, the leadership of the “Islamic Caliphate” welcomes the conversion of its Caucasian brothers who have sworn allegiance to it, and declares the territory of Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan and Kabardino-Balkaria its province (vilayat).

Abu Muhammad al-Qadari was appointed her vali (governor).

In early June, representatives of the terrorist underground in the North Caucasus distributed a video in which, declaring their commitment to the ideals of the Islamic State, they swore allegiance to its Supreme Caliph (ruler) Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

A few days after this statement, the Federal Security Service and the Ministry of the Interior of Russia conducted a series of successful operations to eliminate several armed gangs in the North Caucasus. As a result of one of the operations, one of the largest terrorist groups, the Khasavyurt bandit group, was completely decapitated.
