Immigrants of what nationality moved to the United States over the past hundred years

One hundred years ago, the US experienced a big wave of immigrants - 18,2 million, originally from Europe. Many Americans can trace their family roots in this wave, from 1890 to 1919, when most immigrants came from Germany. Although the representatives of the United Kingdom, Canada and Italy also migrated en masse.
In 1910, the number of Germans among all immigrants in the United States was 19% (or 2,5 million). They dominated the 18 states and the District of Columbia, while the Mexicans in the 3 states (Arizona, New Mexico and Texas).
The next in the number of immigrants were representatives of the USSR (11%, or 1,5 million).
Since 1965, when Congress passed the law on opening the border, immigrants from Latin America and Asia came to the United States.
In California, the number of immigrants peaked in 1860, making up 40% of the state’s population. Then the Chinese made up the bulk of immigrants there.
At the same time, New York and New Jersey reached their peak in 1910 - 30% were residents of Russia and the USSR and 26% were Italians.
In 2013, there was a massive wave of immigration from Mexico to the United States. Mexico is home to 28% (or 11,6 million) of all immigrants in the United States.
Mexicans are based in the following states: New Mexico (72%), Arizona (58%), Texas (58%), Idaho (53%) and Oklahoma (51%).
Despite the large number of Mexicans, immigrants come to the United States from all over the world. So, in New Jersey, every tenth immigrant from India. Canadians live in Maine (24%), Montana (21%), New Hampshire (15%), Vermont (15%) and North Dakota (13%). Filipinos make up a significant proportion of immigrants in Hawaii (47%) and Alaska (27%).
