Of the 1270 new patients examined, only 18% were from day care centers for the elderly, 4% from nursing homes, 2% from the homeless, and less than 1% from places of detention. Two out of three people who were hospitalized with the virus were those who stayed at home.

In addition, only 4% of newly infected people said they use public transport daily. “We thought, maybe they use public transport, and took special precautions in public transport. But no, these people were literally at home, ”Cuomo said.
