In Tunisia, unknown attacked the hotel with tourists
At least 27 people died as a result of an attack by armed people on the popular tourist resort of Sousse on the coast of Tunisia, the Interior Ministry said.
Shooting was heard at the scene. One of the attackers was killed, authorities said.
Some eyewitnesses have reported explosions, but there is no official confirmation of this information yet.
The Tunisian Interior Ministry told the BBC that a "terrorist attack" was ongoing and that there were casualties, but did not provide other details.
British tourist Alan Calahan told the BBC by phone that he heard sounds of an attack on a nearby hotel. He also saw a man with a gun from the window, but does not know who exactly it was - the attacker or a security officer. He and other guests are now taking refuge in the hotel's service areas.
Since March, when an attack on the Bardo Museum in the Tunisian capital killed 21 tourists from the UK, France, Italy, Colombia and Japan, many tourism-related sites in Tunisia have been under heightened security.
