Florida resident wounded a policeman and took four children hostage

Orlando (Florida) police are trying to neutralize a criminal who wounded a policeman near Westbrook Apartments on the night of 10 on 11 June, after which he barricaded himself in an apartment with four young children as hostages.

The injured officer was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he had surgery, doctors predict that the man will live, writes Orlando Sentinel.

Around 23: 45 10 Jun police officers received a call from a woman that she was beaten by a boyfriend. When they arrived at the call, the suspect began to shoot, wounding the officer.

Currently, the criminal has barricaded himself in an apartment where he holds four children aged 1, 7, 10 and 12 for years as hostages.

The SWAT rapid response team is now in the Westbrook residential complex, trying to negotiate with the suspect. The police hoped that the man would surrender, but just in case the residents were warned about the danger and asked to stay away from the area where the incident was taking place.

44-year-old Judy Pepper, who lives in the same house as the suspect, said she was awakened by shots. Through the window, she saw three policemen carrying the fourth to the street. According to her, he was bandaged around his neck.

Residents of the complex were asked to leave the building, they were temporarily placed in a nearby hotel Holiday Inn.

The name of the suspect is not reported yet.
