Lighting the lights on the tree in Rockefeller Center: where and how to watch the broadcast

Christmas lights on the Rockefeller Center will be lit on Wednesday, November 28, during a solemn ceremony, but viewers should be aware of some security restrictions and street closures and prepare for cold weather.

The grand event will broadcast NBC-4 from 19: 00 to 22: 00.

An increase in the number of spectators is expected by the end of the day, and police say drivers should avoid Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall from 15: 00 until midnight.

Police also state that the following roads will be closed from 15: 00 until the end of the lighting ceremony:

• 48th, 49th, 50th, and 51st streets between Avenue of the Americas and Madison Avenue
• 47th street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue, and 52nd street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue.
• 48th to 51st streets between Avenue of the Americas and Madison Avenue
• 47th street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue
• 52nd street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue

For participation in the ceremony viewers are recommended to use public transport. According to the police, umbrellas, backpacks, large bags and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Checkout areas are located on 48, 49 and 50 streets and 5 Avenue and Avenue of the Americas. Without security checks on the ceremony do not get.

Christmas tree lights will light up every day from 17: 30 to 23: 30 up to January 6 and from 17: 30 to 21: 00 7 January 2019.

At Christmas, the Rockefeller Center will shine for 24 hours.
