During the wedding in Alabama, the groom was saved by a drowning schoolboy
Just a few minutes after the couple Zak and Cindy were married on the beach in Alabama, the groom saved the life of a man by pulling a drowning teenager out of the water.
2 August Zack Edwards and his wife Cindy celebrated their wedding on the Gulf Beach of Orange Beach, posing for photographers near the water. At one point, they heard a stranger say that someone was drowning, telling Fox News.
At that time, red flags prohibiting bathing were placed along the entire beach, and the rescuers were occupied by another person. Edwards, a junior coast guard officer of the 2 class and a former lifeguard, took off the groom's smart shirt for a couple of seconds and rushed into the ocean to help the drowning man.
“I wasn’t going to let him choke,” Edwards told reporters. “He just kept repeating: I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.” My goal was to keep his head above the surface of the water."
Other people soon came to the rescue. The drowning guy turned out to be a Mississippi high school student.
“I didn’t think that the day that changed the life of my family for the better could change the life of another family for the better,” the groom admitted. According to him, while in the water, he could only think about his fiancee Cindy.
“We were pretty battered while we were getting out of the water. And so we go ashore, everyone grabs him. I get up and she runs towards me in her wedding dress. My nose is bleeding and I'm trying to tell her to go away because I know how important this dress is and I don't want to ruin it at all,” Edwards said.
Cindy Edwards told reporters she received a double gift: "a hero and a husband on the same day."
