Ten days ago, 16-year-old Aranda Briones went missing in Moreno Valley, California. The last time the family saw the girl was on January 13 - she went to visit friends and did not return home.

The next day, Aranda’s relatives reported her disappearance to the police, writes ABC News. The city where the high school girl went missing is about an hour from Los Angeles.

Friends said that around 18: 00 on 13 in January, they landed Briones in Moreno Valley Public Park. But the investigators could not find it on any of the recordings of surveillance cameras installed in that part of the city.

The girl’s uncle Matthew Horstcott, handing out leaflets with a picture of her niece, admitted that she did not always choose good friends.

"She picked bad friends, but you know, that happens to everyone," Horstcott told KABC. “Everyone makes mistakes, but all I want is for her to be home and safe.”

Horstkott asks the girl's friends to honestly tell if they have at least some information about her, and not to cover other people for fear.

Police are continuing to review any possible surveillance video from the area where she was last seen, according to friends. On January 13, Briones last posted footage from her phone on social media and was located in Rubidoux, about 14 miles northwest of where she was last seen.

Since then, Aranda has not posted messages on social networks and has not responded to mobile phone calls.

“Over this week, investigators searched last known locations and spoke with several of Briones' relatives and friends in an attempt to locate her,” Moreno Valley police said in a statement. “The last known location is believed to be adjacent to a public park located at 13380 Frederick Street in Moreno Valley.”

The city’s police said it was joined by both the local anti-trafficking team and the FBI. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is also involved in an attempt to find Aranda.

“Nine days into a missing person case — with every second that goes by, every minute that goes by, every day that goes by — from a law enforcement standpoint, we don't like it all,” Riverside County Sheriff Chris Willison said.

Description of Aranda Briones: 16-year-old girl is approximately 5 feet 4 inches (162 cm) tall and 110 pounds (50 kg) in weight, with brown hair, green eyes and piercings in the nose. She was wearing a white and blue jacket and dark jeans.

“We just want her to come home,” her brother Daniel Briones said. “That's all we really care about.” We just want her to be home."

Karl Horstcott, the grandfather and guardian of Briones, told KABC: "It all looks like a hell of a reality."
