In New York, illegals will be given free medical insurance.

Illegal immigrants living in New York will be able to get a “health care card” entitling them to free medical insurance in the city starting in August 2019.

This was stated by the mayor of the city, Bill de Blasio, writes The New York Post.

“You'll hear some critics who say we can't afford to provide health care to everyone. I have a simple answer. It's not a money problem from my point of view. There's a lot of money in this world, there's a lot of money in this country, it's just in the wrong hands,” de Blasio said.

Presumably, it will cost 100 millions of dollars to taxpayers.

The mayor presented the NYC Care health insurance card, which will provide 300 000 immigrants and low-income New York residents access to primary care doctors, prescription drugs, and other medical services.

To access these services, patients only need to prove that they have lived in New York for six months and either do not have insurance or cannot afford to purchase a health plan.

This summer, residents of the Bronx will be the first to receive NYC Care cards; residents of other parts of New York will be able to apply for the program over the next few months.

Public hospitals are already providing free care, providing the necessary medical services to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

“The idea is to make it as user-friendly as possible,” de Blasio explained.

“We say: ‘Come get this card, we will appoint a doctor for you, we will tell you about all the services that you can get with this card,’” he added.

The mayor said that it was not yet determined how much the plan would save on the cost of emergency care for illegal immigrants and the poor.
