A stunning shark show opens in New York
An exhibition of Ocean Wonders: Sharks! Will open at the end of June in the New York Aquarium, as part of which more than 18 shark species will be presented, as well as thousands of other magnificent sea creatures.
Visitors are offered to get acquainted with 115 species of marine animals, writes The New York Daily News.
Upon entering the exhibition, visitors will find themselves in a tunnel of aquamarine waters teeming with neon coral reefs, its length is 40 feet (12 meters), they will be separated from sea creatures by an acrylic wall 9 inches thick.
In total, the exhibition will take 57 500 square feet (5 323 square meters) and 3 floors.
Visit the exhibition will be from 30 June. Visitors are promised to tell about sharks what they didn’t know yet, or what they had a wrong idea about because of the films.
Guests will also be able to chat with divers and ask them about the sea creatures they will see at the exhibition. Viewers will have the opportunity to interact with divers swimming inside the aquariums - their suits will be equipped with cameras and microphones, and they will be able to hear visitors.
The total cost of organizing the exhibition was 158 million dollars, it is aimed at informing people about the vulnerability of sharks and how to protect these animals.
According to scientists, about 100 millions of sharks die each year because of the capture and trade in fins.
