Ukrainian boxer Lomachenko won a historic fight in New York

World Champion in the second featherweight championship, according to the WBO, Vasily Lomachenko 9 December defeated Guillermo Rigondeau in a battle held in New York in Madison Square Garden.
In the sixth round, the Ukrainian inflated the pace, the opponent injured his left hand and did not come out to the seventh round, writes “Today".
Prior to this, the battle took place with the full advantage of Lomachenko. Judging by the records of judges, only after the first round, the opinion of the referee diverged. Two judges gave the victory to Rigondo, and one to Lomachenko. Then the Ukrainian boxer won all the rounds, and in the sixth, the referee in the ring took a point from the Cuban for a dirty game.
The Lomachenko-Rigondeaux fight became historic - for the first time in the history of world boxing, two two-time Olympic champions fought in the ring.

After the battle, the Ukrainian joked that he was thinking about changing the name.
“You can call me Nomaschenko (no mas is an expression that describes the situation in a fight where a fighter refuses to continue the fight),” said the athlete.
Vasily won 10 victories (8 - ahead of schedule) and one loss.
Rigondo before the fight with Lomachenko won all 17 fights in his professional career. The 29-year-old Ukrainian struck the 37-year-old Cuban with a first loss in his career.
