Ukraine will complicate the entry procedure for Russian citizens

In the near future, the Ukrainian government will complicate the procedure for entering the country for citizens of Russia.

About it reports the publication “Merchant”, With reference to sources in the state authorities of Kiev.

The visa regime will not be introduced, but other serious restrictions will appear: it will be possible to cross the border only with a biometric passport, in addition, you will need to fill in a special form in advance on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“In the questionnaire, a citizen of Russia will have to provide information about himself, including his profession and place of work, as well as the exact purpose of the trip and the localities he plans to visit. In the future, it will be necessary to notify you about your arrival within a month - except for such urgent cases as, for example, illness or death of a relative, ”explained a source close to the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

He clarified that the questionnaire will need to be filled out in Ukrainian or English.

According to sources, it was originally planned to introduce a full-fledged visa regime with the Russian Federation, as required by the National Security and Defense Council, but after discussion they decided to abandon this idea.

“The main reason why Kiev did not introduce a visa regime is fear for the Ukrainian citizens remaining in the Crimea. If we canceled the visa-free agreement with Russia, these people would be deprived of the opportunity to travel freely to our country, ”explained Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Yury Grymchak.

Sources claim that the decision to change the visa regime will be made by the government in the near future - “it is possible that even before September 1.”
