Fire Threat: US Banned Certain MacBooks from Aircraft
The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has banned the transport of certain MacBook Pro models due to the risk of battery fire.
We are talking about 15-inch retina display MacBooks, released in the middle of the 2015 year and sold through February 2017 of the year. In June 2019, Apple announced their recall, writes Reuters.
The aviation department noted that they sent a notice banning such MacBooks on board aircraft in all US airlines.

The recall announced by Apple aims to replace the batteries on these laptops. The company asks users to temporarily provide it with gadgets for free battery replacement. It was previously revealed that due to overheating, they can threaten fire safety.
To check if the laptop is participating in the replacement program, you must enter its serial number in special form on its website.
