Statistics captures an inexplicable increase in the death rate of Russians

For the first quarter of the year 2015 in Russia, the mortality increased by 5,2 percent.

Experts do not see a single reason for this increase. The growth of the sad statistics coincided with the devaluation of the ruble, the increase in the number and depth of stress due to the deteriorating economic situation and the restructuring of the health care system, the newspaper notes.

In the first three months of 2015, thousands of people died in Russia, 507, which is thousands more on 23,5 than in the first quarter of last year. At the same time, child mortality and death tolls as a result of murder and suicide decreased.

The number of deaths due to respiratory diseases increased (by 22 percent), as a result of coronary heart disease (by 7 percent).

There is no pronounced linkage to the regions, but nevertheless, mortality has increased more markedly in the large cities of Central Russia, in the Volga region, and in the north-west of the country. In Siberia and the Far East, this figure is significantly lower.

Experts did not find any connection between the number of people who had passed away with economic indicators, the publication emphasizes. Experts predict a "demographic" increase in mortality within 1-2 percent annually. This is due to the fact that the age of maximum mortality of Russians is 70-75 years and now a small generation of children of the 40-s of the twentieth century is dying.

The generation of 50's has been more numerous. Therefore, even with a general increase in life expectancy, the “generational factor” will give an annual increase in the number of deaths.
