Starbucks kicks off the holiday season and gives away free red cups: how to get them

Starbucks is offering its customers free Christmas red mugs with their logo as they kick off the holiday season. They can be obtained by purchasing an autumn or holiday drink. Read more about the action told the publication Coffee at Three.

Red cups are large plastic reusable cups for hot drinks.

In the United States and Canada only, Starbucks will be giving away free cups until supplies run out.

The number of branded cups is limited, so it's best to come early in the day. Most coffee shops will likely run out of cups by noon. In some, they are gone already 1-2 hours after opening.

The ordered drinks are not prepared in a reusable red cup, it is given separately.

The design of the red cup is not revealed until the very day of the promotion.

How to get a red cup

To receive a free reusable red cup, order a handmade autumn or holiday drink in any size.

Orders can be placed in the store, on drive-thru and on mobile devices.

Promotional cups are available while stock lasts, so be sure to check if they have red cups left if you're ordering a celebratory drink just to get one.

Stocks are limited and each store receives a different amount, so some stores run out of red cups faster than others.
