XNUMX-year-old boy falls off Florida rollercoaster: child in hospital with serious injuries

A six-year-old boy from Kissimmee, Florida, was rushed to hospital August 4 after suffering serious injuries from a rollercoaster fall. The edition told in more detail Fox News.

The Osceola County Fire and Rescue Department said the incident occurred at the Fun Spot Amusement Park in Kissimmee, Florida around 15:00 pm. A child fell off the Galaxy Spin rollercoaster in the park.

A fire and rescue spokesman said the 6-year-old boy was found about 20 feet (6 m) under the ride "with serious injuries."

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) said in a statement that the agency is aware of the incident and the track is currently closed.

“The department is aware of the incident and we are currently investigating. The attraction is closed pending completion of the investigation, ”the agency said in a statement.

Fun Spot America, the amusement park operator, said that "an accident occurred on the Galaxy Spin roller coaster that injured a child."

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the child and his family. We are praying for his speedy recovery,” the park said. — The safety of our guests is our number one priority. We are working with FDACS and the manufacturer to investigate the incident."

“FDACS inspected the ride and found it to be in normal operating condition with no mechanical issues. The attraction was operated in compliance with all safety procedures and recommendations set out in production and industry standards,” the company assured.

Galaxy Spin is a roller coaster that takes passengers through hairpin turns. The carts can accommodate up to four people.

The park said the attraction would not open "until we are 100% sure it won't happen again."
