Family in California survive after their car plunged into a 76-meter cliff
Four people, including two children, were seriously injured but miraculously survived after the Tesla car fell 76 meters off a cliff in California. Independent.

The incident occurred on January 2 near the Devil's Slide area, which is known for fatal accidents.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two adults, a four-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy, were locked in the car for an hour before they were pulled out by rescuers, who then towed the electric car to the roadway.
All people in the car were taken to regional hospitals.

According to the California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire, the crash on Highway 1 in San Mateo County occurred on January 2 just before 11 a.m. Witnesses saw the accident and called 911.
After an initial investigation, CHP does not believe Tesla was operating in autopilot or full autonomous driving mode at the time of the crash, officer Mark Andrews said.

The damage to the car indicated that the car rolled over and hit a rock several times before crashing its wheels down into the rocky coastline, reports Washington Examiner. Rescuers used ropes attached to their fire trucks to climb down a cliff and were stunned to find movement inside the vehicle.
“They were more scared than hurt. It's an absolute miracle," said Brian Pottenger, battalion commander for the Coastal Fire Department.
