Russian airlines will add violent passengers to the black lists

In Russia, 4 June came into force amendments to the air code, which entitle airlines to make violent passengers in the black list.

The name of the rowdy is entered on the list for a year, and during this period, air carriers have the right not to sell tickets to such a passenger, writes Life.

The decision on this is made by the head of the airline or the person performing his duties. In this case, the violator will need to be notified of the inclusion in the black list, and he will be entitled to appeal the decision through the court.

Aeroflot was the first airline to announce the introduction of blacklists.

“Along with tightening liability for violations on board an aircraft, granting airlines the right to refuse transportation to air rowdies is the next significant stage in a set of legislative measures to reduce and prevent offenses on board. The entry into force of the law will allow Aeroflot to provide law-abiding passengers with an even safer and more comfortable flight,” the company said.

The reason for blacklisting airlines are:

• failure to comply with the orders of the aircraft commander (part 6, Article 11.17 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation);
• hooliganism on board (Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation);
• actions that threaten the safe operation of an aircraft (Art. 267.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

At the same time, according to the amendments, the rowdy cannot be refused transportation in some cases. In particular, the carrier is obliged to sell him a ticket in the absence of alternative flights, when he is sent for treatment or is flying to a relative’s funeral, and also if he accompanies persons with disabilities.
