Rhode Island recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people
The US state of Rhode Island recognized the Holodomor 1932-1933 as the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
This is stated on the official website of the Ukrainian Embassy in the USA on the social network. Facebook.
“Officially, the state of Rhode Island has recognized the Ukrainian Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people,” the statement says.
The embassy added that, thanks to the joint efforts of Ukrainian diplomats in the United States and the Ukrainian diaspora, more than two dozen American states condemned the actions of the Soviet Union in the early twentieth century in Ukraine, recognizing the Holodomor an act of genocide.
Rhode Island became the 22 US state that recognized the Holodomor as genocide.
