45-year-old Guadalupe Olivas Valencia, who attempted suicide half an hour after returning to Mexico, was found unconscious next to a plastic bag with his things. He was taken to the hospital, where he soon died. According to eyewitnesses, before attempting suicide, Valencia shouted that he did not want to return to Mexico, and was clearly under stress.

The incident occurred against the backdrop of trump's tightening migration policy. Presidential Administration provided instructions, involving the expansion of the practice of deportation of illegal migrants from the United States.

A recent notice from U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said U.S. authorities could send people detained for illegal border crossings back to Mexico—no matter where they came from.

Mexico fears that the tightening of US migration policies will lead to massive deportations. According to MFA estimates, there are about 5,7 million Mexican migrants in the United States who do not have the necessary documents for this. Mexican authorities are planning to seek help from the UN.

“I want to emphasize that the government and people of Mexico will not accept decisions unilaterally imposed by another government. Our Latin American country will not hesitate to turn to international organizations, starting with the UN, to defend rights and freedoms,” said Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray.
