The details of the new Trump immigration decree have become known.
President Donald Trump's edict on immigration will be “more flexible” than the version currently being challenged in US courts, said National Security Secretary John Kelly.
The new order will not affect people with valid US visas or green cards. Kelly added that the presidential administration is seeking to avoid any new legal resistance and chaos that many travelers have faced since the signing of the January 27 decree.
Kelly spoke of a new decree after Trump announced him at a briefing on Friday, February 17.
“We are planning to issue a new decree next week that will completely protect our country and our people from illegal immigrants,” said Trump.
On February 16, the Justice Department reported to the San Francisco Court of Appeals, which suspended the execution of the original decree, that a retrial was no longer relevant, since the amended order was being drafted.
The new decree is likely to cause a new round of legal problems and disputes that have split the nation and caused turmoil in the world in the last two weeks.
Recall, 27 January Trump suspended on 120 days the reception of refugees in the United States and on 90 days, it prohibited entry into the United States to citizens of countries with a predominantly Muslim population: Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.
The ban was suspended by the court, the presidential administration announced its intention to continue the legal struggle.
