First video: children in California tried themselves as bloggers

Nine-year-old Alice has a serious task ahead of her: to suddenly jump out of an ambush, pretending to be a snake, and thereby scare her friends, who jumped on the bench in horror. True, the girl herself assures that she is not a dangerous reptile at all, but only a harmless snake, and explains in detail how snakes differ from poisonous snakes. An interest in and observation of animals is Alice's longtime passion, and now for the first time the girl has decided to start a blog to tell others about the world of animals. The scene with the "snake" is, in fact, the first "advertising" video of a novice blogger.

Alice admits: in kindergarten she sometimes had to play in performances, but she is in front of the camera for the first time.

«It's great, but a little difficult, especially if you forget the words. But still it's great when a lot of people watch you and everyone likes your videos. It's like a game that is seen by a lot of viewers.", - the girl shares.

Sharing hobbies

The idea to help children start blogging, decide on content, and even shoot the first "software" video belongs to the director and screenwriter from California. Ekaterina Poletaeva. Having extensive experience in shooting commercials with children, Ekaterina decided to try to create a summer camp for "future bloggers". The project involves children from 9 to 13 years old. Within four days, they choose a topic that interests them, together with the director decide how to present it to the audience in the most interesting and creative way, think over scenes and bring them to life.

«This is a very interesting age. The participants of our camp are still children, but already with adult dreams. At first, it seemed to them that they had no special talents, but then, when they began to list their hobbies, their eyes literally lit up and a lot of ideas appeared.", - says Catherine.

Thirteen year old Miroslava has been writing music and poetry for quite some time, and I wanted to blog about it. However, during the discussion, it turned out that the girl loves to read books, and the best content of her YouTube channel at the moment can be fascinating stories about what she has read, as well as reading her own poems.

«At school, I already participated in the musical "Matilda", so I have a little acting experience", - explains Miroslava. The girl notes that the game helps her to open up from a new side, since she has to play herself in any role.

The birth of a character

Director Ekaterina Poletaeva agrees with this.

«We create characters based on the character of the child, that is, each child is an already established character. According to the same principle, by the way, the Yeralash film magazine was created, when children were not forced to play a role, but an image was prescribed based on their own type. With this approach, the child was practically himself and did everything that was in his power. It was on the basis of his actions that the character was then created, and the plot was written around him.", - explains Ekaterina.

This is how, for example, the idea of ​​a video for a ten-year-old Faith. The girl began posting her first dance videos on social networks from the age of six.

«On the Likee network, I had 3000 likes, but only 800 subscribers. I am still interested in dancing, as well as various funny things."She says.

Vera's blog scene turned out to be funny too. According to the plot, the girl's mother, who is fascinated by spiritual and energy practices, forbids her to use social networks and takes away her phone. Then Vera decides to play the mother and depicts many hours of immersion in meditation, refusing to eat and sleep. As a result, the frightened mother herself insists that the child start playing with other children and make videos for TikTok - if only the girl returned to normal life.

According to Vera, this is her first acting experience, but she always dreamed of becoming an actress and blogger.

«Playing a role is quite difficult, for this you need to dive deep into the character. When I play, I feel like someone else, but it's a very interesting experience.“, she admits.

Bullying ban

According to the director, working with children is, in a sense, easier than working with older, inexperienced actors. Having the experience of games, children easily enter the role and just as easily leave it, instantly returning to normal life.

«There are cases when children just fooled around on camera making some hilarious videos as entertainment, and then, over time, they grew into serious dramatic actors. In addition, do not forget that children are naturally artistic.", - explains Ekaterina.

At the end, the children focused on the topic of bullying and harassment online. Although the skit was recorded in their already familiar humorous manner, its main message remains the same: any careless word can offend a person, and therefore it is important to think twice before publishing anything on the Internet.
