Personal room on the plane: Lufthansa presented a new first-class cabin, and it's chic

Lufthansa has announced an important addition to its first-class service: the new Suite Plus. The first class cabin on Lufthansa's new Airbus 350 aircraft will be part of Lufthansa Allegris' long haul offering. The two-seat cabin will have floor-to-ceiling partitions and a door that closes completely. Travel Leisure.

The new suite will be available in 2024.

According to the press release, the suite also has a table with two wide seats on either side.

“Every guest has a different definition of premium, which is why we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity,” said Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, at the opening ceremony in Berlin. “First Class Suite Plus provides the privacy and individuality of a hotel room, only at 11 kilometers altitude.”

That's not all! Guests can heat or cool their nearly one meter wide seats to suit their temperature preferences. The seats turn into extra long beds. Travelers can even connect their mobile devices to the entertainment system to listen to their favorite music or watch their favorite movies. The suite also has a walk-in closet so travelers can hang up their clothes to keep them from wrinkling.

Meals are in line with other first-class amenities and include a gourmet menu that guests can order at any time, not just during regular service. The suite also has its own minibar.

And while it's not a private suite, the airline is also making improvements to its economy and premium economy areas. This includes the already introduced Premium Economy seats with more legroom than previous layouts, a fold-out footrest and the provision of an amenity kit for passengers in that section. But if you want to travel on a grand scale, a luxury, almost hotel-like experience on board an airplane is the way to go.
