How Russians Changed Disney Motivating Movie

In February, Disney launched the “Follow the Dream, Princess” motivational campaign - in an appropriate video, girls are inspired to pursue what they want. Heroine videos are engaged in martial arts, archery, dancing, swimming, gymnastics and many other things.

But after a few weeks Natalia Bespalova, a graduate student at HSE noticedthat the video for the Russian audience is slightly different from the English original. When a motivating video was localized, several shots were lost: in one, girls-activists are shown, demanding peace on Earth, in the other - a girl politician, in the third - an astronaut girl.

It is fair to say that these are not the only frames that were lost during localization - in the Russian version of the video there is also a lack of a girl riding a horse and a girl riding a bicycle. So, perhaps, in the cuts there was no malicious intent.
