California immigrant who died at the hands of her ex-husband was afraid for her life
48-year-old Konstantin Morozov, who was shot by police in Los Angeles, California after he killed his wife and kidnapped an 9-year-old son, according to the investigation, was in conflict with his wife over the money and the house in which they lived in the US, reports AP.

According to Irina Malkmus, Natalia Morozova's girlfriend, after her divorce with her husband, Natalia expressed concerns about her safety.
“She told me that she and her husband had a lot of problems at home over the years, which led to her going to the police many times. Then she told me she was going to get a divorce and try to get custody of her son,” Malkmus said.
She added that the divorce process was complex and lengthy.
“The last few years after she started the divorce process have been very difficult for her. She told me that she was afraid, and she even ran to a domestic violence shelter several times to hide from her husband,” Malkmus said.
According to her, Morozova called her son "the only reason she holds on to life."
The Russian Consulate General in San Francisco reported that Konstantin Morozov and his wife were Russian citizens, writes TASS. 9-year-old son Daniel Moroz is also a citizen of Russia.
In this case, KEYT-TV reports that Konstantin emigrated to the United States from Ukraine.
