Elon Musk broke into a recording studio with a gun and won a role in a computer game

Walter Isaacson, in his book about Elon Musk, said that there was a moment when the entrepreneur suddenly came to the CD Projekt RED studio and demanded a role in the game Cyberpunk 2077. And he did this with a rare “two-hundred-year-old” pistol in his hands, reports reports Gizmodo.

Musk made this visit while his common-law wife, singer Grimes, was voicing one of the characters in the studio. Musk came with an old pistol in his hands and began to threaten the developers with the weapon and insist that it be added to the game. He said he wanted a role in it too. However, he warned that he was “armed, but not dangerous.”

What year this was was not specified. Singer Grimes confirmed this fact. She recalled that studio employees were confused at the sight of Musk with a gun.

“The studio guys were sweating,” Grimes told Isaacson. They eventually agreed, she said.

Musk was fixated on Cyberpunk 2077. Isaacson claims in his book that the cybernetic implants often used in the game were a "sci-fi version" of the type of brain computer interfaces that Musk developed at his company Neuralink.

Musk, it seems, has finally achieved his goal. Isaacson said that the studio made concessions to the billionaire, and at the release of Cyberpunk 2077 they noticed a character who looked suspiciously like an eccentric businessman.

Plot involving Musk

This persistence by Musk may have led to a side quest. In it, the main character agrees to work with the famous cyborg singer Lizzie Wizzy, voiced by Grimes. The main character must keep an eye on Vizzy's boyfriend (Musk's character), who, according to the singer, may be cheating on her. According to the plot, the guy is also Wizzy's manager.

“Imagine: we are never alone, really. He’s always surrounded by assistants, PR people, and makeup artists,” says Wizzy during the quest. “If I stop smiling at him for one millisecond, it will be everywhere in every cry in this city... Millions of eyes are constantly focused on you.”

Players who accept the job sneak into a nightclub and hack a camera to eavesdrop on a conversation between a guy and an unknown woman. Players learn that the guy is not cheating, but instead plans to create a backup of a digital version of Wizzy's consciousness in case her career ends earlier than expected. The guy is asked if Wizzy's digital consciousness can be altered to remove "undesirable traits."

If the player decides to give the recording of the conversation to Wizzy, she decides to find and kill her boyfriend without the player's knowledge. A few days later, Wizzy calls back and asks the player to meet her at a hotel, where they discover the guy's beaten body. She claims that she did not intend to kill this man, but she was overcome with rage.

“Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night... and not for a second realize who you were,” asks Wizzy. “Or, I mean… have you ever felt like you’re not really you?” The player is then asked to grab the killed Musk character and throw him down the garbage chute.

Players in the game can use cybernetics to hack computers and weapons, see through walls, and scan the environment for information. According to the game's legend, long-term use of the devices also leads to a condition called "cyberpsychosis", where users are driven to extreme insanity.
