The American has developed an application that blocks a teenager's phone until he contacts his parents
American Nick Herbert invented an application that blocks the children's phone until they respond to the message. He decided to develop such a program at the moment when his son acquired his own mobile phone.
application ReplyASAPdeveloped by Nick Herbert, sends to the phone a message that appears on top of all other notifications and open sites and applications. In addition, when such a message is received, a special sound signal is emitted on the phone, even if at that moment it is set to “Silent” mode.
“I saw that my son often missed my messages and calls because he had a lot of notifications on social networks,” Herbert said in an interview CTV News Channel. After that, he had the idea to send a message that is impossible not to notice.
To unlock the phone, the recipient can either reply to the message or postpone it - in the latter case, the parents will automatically receive information about the exact location of the child. Also, parents receive a notification when the child views the message.
During the creation of the application Nick Herbert I constantly consulted with my son in order not to undermine the freedom of the recipient of such messages.
“Ben loved the idea—that way he would always know that if he received one of these messages, he would always hear it and know it was important,” Herbert said.
You can send messages via ReplyASAP only to those phones that are pre-connected to the application and connected to each other.
There are currently several plans available that allow users to connect from one to 20 users at prices ranging from 0,99 to 13 dollars.
Herbert says that ReplyASAP can also be used for other purposes, including monitoring for elderly parents or prompt communication with colleagues.
Now the application is available only to Android users, but will soon appear for iOS.
