Scientists warn: all modern youth will face a difficult life due to heat and cataclysms
An unprecedented number of disasters and extreme heat - this will become a reality for all inhabitants of the Earth who are currently under 40 years old. The publication told in more detail Cursor Info.
Wimm Thierry, a climatologist at the University of Brussels, believes that children born this year expect a sevenfold increase in heat, a doubling of the number of large-scale forest fires, a tripling of droughts, crop failures, floods compared to the conditions in which their great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers lived.
The climatologist notes that with today's temperature changes and increasing greenhouse gas emissions, the picture looks very sad.
The study showed that global warming will unevenly affect people in different countries.

In particular, more than 170 million children living in African countries expect 50 times more periods of extreme heat and 6 times more natural disasters, compared with 50 million children living in Europe and Central Asia.
According to climatologists, there is a possibility that the changes will be more tangible than currently predicted. In the course of the research, only the frequency of extreme events was taken into account, and not their duration and degree.

“We did not take into account the fact that in the future heat waves could last twice as long as they do now. The current trend suggests that all of this can happen at the same time. Imagine heat waves and droughts, or river floods and tropical cyclones, ”says Thierry.
But the scientist argues that if now humanity starts to fight against climate change, people will be able to avoid the worst scenario. According to the UN, if nothing changes, in the coming centuries, part of the Earth may become uninhabitable.
