Florida resident repays school lunch debts for all children in the city

“Children should not go to school hungry,” a Florida resident decided and paid off his school lunch debt for all the children in the city who had such debt. It cost him almost a thousand dollars.

A man from Florida surprised everyone by paying off debts for every child in Jupiter, but the good news doesn't stop there. His action formed the basis of a whole movement of enthusiasts who are ready to help students, writes Fox News.

When Andrew Levy learned that more than 400 students in his district were missing out on nutritious meals because they couldn't afford school lunches, he decided to take action. "I thought, 'This is crazy.' Food is something you don't have to think about, Levy told WPEC. “Children should not study hungry.”

Levy paid 944,34 dollars to cover the debt for lunch at nine local schools, which, he said, was a modest price for what would be important for every child.

By sharing his action on social networks, Levy took another step forward.

His post immediately became viral.

“I want to thank you for your generosity, these children will never forget your kindness,” one commenter wrote to him.

“No child should ever go hungry in school, so let's do this in every city and every state!” - added another.

The Palm Beach County School District, which is a much larger territory, has created a form for people interested in helping pay off 50 000 dollars in debt accumulated by more than 180 thousands of students.
