How to change a temporary green card to a permanent one
The green card is a certificate of a permanent resident of the United States who does not have the citizenship of this state. The presence of a green card gives foreign persons the right to stay and work in the United States of America.
A temporary green card is granted for a period of 2. In order to receive a permanent document, you must submit an application 90 days before the expiry of the card, otherwise the status of a permanent resident will be lost. Resume temporary green card is not possible.
Conditions under which a vrenna green card is changed to a permanent one:
- changing the type of green card through marriage with a US citizen. For this you need to fill Form I-751: Petition for change of status.
- changing the type of green card through business activities in the United States. For this you need to fill Form I-829: The petition to change the status of the entrepreneur.
