Delaware woman hits lottery jackpot twice in one week

A 70-year-old woman from Delaware won two lottery jackpots totaling $400 in one week. And this isn't the first time something like this has happened to a lottery winner. CNBC.

According to a Delaware Lottery press release, the winner, who did not want to be named, won $100 for the first time. She purchased a $000 Ultimate Cash Instant Cash ticket for $100 at Speedy Gas in Newark, Delaware. The odds of winning were 20 in 1.

On her way home after claiming her prize at the Delaware Lottery headquarters, she decided to celebrate by purchasing three $30 Serious Money tickets from the Tiger Mart in Dover, Delaware.

Despite a 1 in 150 odds of winning, one of her tickets hit the $000 jackpot, bringing her total weekly winnings to $300.

The woman, who had a hard time believing her luck, says she plans to save most of the money for her retirement.

Double win big

Double wins in the lottery are not common, but they happen more than you think.

Earlier this year, an Iowa woman won her second $100 lottery prize. It's been a little over 000 years since her first win. The winner said she plans to use her winnings to pay off her debt and possibly start a business.
