The unusual sight was noticed by foreign fans on one of the roads of Nizhny Novgorod. After the failure of the soil in the asphalt, a pit was formed in which several adult men were freely placed. The hole in the road surface attracted football fans who came to the city for the World Cup match, writes TJ.

Fans of the national teams of Croatia and Argentina during a walk around the city noticed a hole at the intersection of Varvarskaya and Volodarsky streets and became keenly interested in it. The fans took some photos that instantly scattered across the network and caused heated discussions.

According to TASS, the city authorities reacted to the resonance and quickly repaired the pit.

“The work began on the morning of June 22, and by 13:00 it was completed. Fencing around the site and warning signs were installed immediately after the sinkhole was reported. In this location there are communications of several utility companies. Despite the fact that there were no leaks in the hot water supply networks in this area, the failure was repaired immediately, and the cause of the ground subsidence is being established,” the statement said.

Several matches took place in Nizhny Novgorod: Sweden and South Korea played on June 18, Argentina and Croatia on June 21, matches between England and Panama are expected on June 24, and between Switzerland and Costa Rica on June 27. Who knows, maybe until then new “attractions” will appear on the city’s roads.
