'I'm not done living': Shannen Doherty reveals her cancer has spread to her bones

Shannen Doherty is focused on moving forward despite her heartbreaking health battle.

More than five months after the All Women Witches star revealed her cancer had metastasized to her brain, the actress shared more devastating news - the cancer had spread to her bones.

“I don’t want to die,” she told People magazine in an article published Nov. 29. “I’m not done living.” I'm not done loving. I'm not done creating. I'm not finished. The hope of changing the situation for the better is simply over. I’m just not… I’m not done yet.”

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and went into remission two years later. But in February 2020, she revealed that a year ago her cancer had returned and was classified as stage four.

As Doherty explained, her diagnosis undoubtedly affected her outlook on life.

"When you ask yourself, 'Why me?' Why did I get cancer?" and then, "Why did my cancer come back? Why am I stage four?’ it makes you look for a greater purpose in life,” she said.

Motivation to live

Earlier this year, the star revealed she had to undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor, sharing her experience on social media.

“This was definitely one of the scariest things I have ever been through in my entire life,” she wrote.

However, despite the struggles, Doherty continually finds motivation in her desire to work again.

“My best memory is yet to come,” she added. - I pray. I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that are important to me, without asking for too much. It connects me to higher powers and spirituality. My faith is my mantra."

As Doherty noted, she appreciates every moment.

“I know it sounds corny and crazy, but you just become more aware of everything and feel so happy,” the actress shared her thoughts about the diagnosis. “We are the people who want to work the most because we are so grateful for every second, every hour, every day that we are here.”
