The driver of the truck where the illegal immigrants died admitted his guilt
The driver of the car, in which there were at least 39 immigrants, 10 of whom died, admitted his guilt.
James Bradley Jr. pleaded guilty in a federal court in San Antonio for conspiring to transport undocumented foreigners (for financial gain), resulting in death, serious injury and a threat to people's lives.
Now he faces a life sentence. If 61-year-old Bradley from Clearwater, Florida, did not admit his guilt, he could have been sentenced to death.
Authorities report that at least 39 immigrants, most of whom were Mexicans, were in a stuffy trailer that San Antonio police found in July in a parking lot Walmart.
The court documents indicate that the surviving immigrants estimated that during the trip from 70 people were delivered to 200 people. They said that they paid different amounts for smuggling.
