A robot killed a man in South Korea
A tragic event occurred in South Korea: a robot accidentally killed a man after mistaking him for an ordinary box of vegetables. A representative from a robotics company was inspecting the machine because it had problems with its sensors the day before. The publication told in more detail with the BBC.
According to local media, the robot's automated arm mistook the man for a container of vegetables. As a result, she grabbed him and pressed him against the conveyor belt, pressing on his face and chest, which led to tragic consequences. The victim was taken to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.

The incident occurred at a pepper sorting plant. The deceased was checking the functionality of the robot's sensors before the planned test launch on November 8. The robot was designed to lift boxes of pepper and place them on pallets.
The test was originally scheduled for November 6, but was postponed due to a malfunction of the robotic arm's sensor. On the evening of November 8, an employee of the company that produced the robotic arm was checking the machine when a malfunction occurred.

After the incident, an official from Donggoseong Agricultural Export Complex, owner of the plant, expressed the need for an "accurate and safe" system. The incident is reminiscent of a similar situation at an auto parts plant in March, when a worker was seriously injured by a robotic arm.
