In Texas, schools have been banned from teaching illegal immigrants for state money.

The agency reported that local schools that wanted to teach immigrant students while they were in federal prison would not be able to “do it with the help of state funding for education.”

Southwest Key, one of the largest non-profit shelters for migrant children in Texas, reported that the agency’s position threatened the partnership that the orphanage had created with at least two school districts, one of which would have allocated millions of Texas taxpayers.

Immigration and US Customs require school-age children in shelters and detention centers to have at least six hours of structured education during the week.

Texas officials say schools can still volunteer to help shelters. But school leaders across the state say that their schools have been engaged in cutting state funding for many years, making it impossible to pay for students who do not have technical education in their districts.

The Supreme Court previously ruled that all children, regardless of their immigration status, have the right to public education.

Recall, yesterday President Donald Trump signed a decree that prohibits border guards from separating parents and migrant childrenwho illegally crossed the US border.

Note that, according to the Department of Homeland Security, from May 5 to June 9, as a result of the family separation policy, more than 2300 children were separated from their parents.

According to ACLUAs of 23 August, 528 immigrant children still remain in custody.
