Fire broke out in apartment building in Brooklyn: 9 affected
A fire broke out in an apartment building in Brooklyn 26 in December, which automatically triggered two alarms.
From the balconies of the affected apartments poured thick smoke, writes NBC.
As a result of a fire on Montgomery Street in Crown Heights, 9 people were injured, three of them seriously. According to the forecasts of doctors, all the wounded (four residents of the house and five firefighters) will survive.
A fire broke out in an apartment on the 12 floor shortly after noon. More than 100 firefighters arrived at the scene, they managed to take control of the fire within two hours.
The city emergency warning system warned residents of traffic disruptions in the area, and also sent a message to the residents of neighboring houses with a council to close windows in order to protect themselves from smoke.
The building in which the fire occurred has 25 floors and contains 165 apartments.
