After the end of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, economists have calculated which offers were the most profitable and where it is really worth buying things and gifts during special promotions. Information will be particularly relevant on the eve of Christmas sales.
Amazon in recent months has dramatically increased the amount of goods that can be bought through the online platform. Compared to May, 2016 sold in November on 75% electronics and 55% more clothes, shoes and jewelry.
Experts Interviewed Team, they say that during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, on average, prices at Amazon decreased by 42%, at Walmart by 33%, Target by 35%, and Best Buy by 36%.
However, despite the fact that Amazon had the biggest discounts, the products there were not always the cheapest. Experts compared 750 bestsellers on Amazon and Google Shopping and found out that in only 25% of cases, Amazon offers products at the lowest price.

There is another pattern: most of the members of the Amazon Prime program try to make purchases on Amazon, because they know that they will receive free 2-day delivery, and are confident that Amazon has the lowest prices. In this study shows that in fact it is not always the case.
However, many experts surveyed by the publication notice that the average 42% discount offered by Amazon does not look very impressive, let alone even more modest offers from other retailers.
Networks such as Shopko, Kohl's, Gordmans, Harbor Freight, JC Penney, Stage and Macy's offered discounts of up to 55% and higher during sales. And Macy's became the leader, where prices fell by 63.4%.
However, the discount percentage itself, experts say, is not indicative. The fact is that marketers interviewed by Time are confident that both Macy's and other offline retailers initially charge inflated prices for their goods. Thus, even with a 60% discount, the product is more expensive than with a smaller discount on Amazon.
According to Time, several buyers have already filed a lawsuit against Macy's and JC Penney with accusations of fraud - customers believe that price manipulation is misleading.
