Belarus began to return the paid fee for "parasitism"

In Belarus, the tax authorities began to return the amounts of tax paid from “parasites” to people who did not participate in financing government spending in 2015 and got a job. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Taxes and Duties of Belarus Svetlana Shevchenko.

Shevchenko noted that while there are no specific data, how many citizens have already transferred funds, since the tax authorities have just begun this work.

Let us recall that in April 2015, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree “on parasites”, according to which able-bodied residents of the country who do not work and do not pay taxes for more than six months must annually transfer a fee of 20 basic units (more than $200). In 2016 and the beginning of 2017, 51 thousand people managed to pay the fee for parasitism.
