In Argentina, 389 kilograms of cocaine, found in a building of the Russian Embassy in Buenos Aires, were burned. Drugs were destroyed in the crematorium in the presence of Argentina's Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich and Russia's Ambassador Dmitry Feoktistov.
According to Bullrich, the destruction of cocaine was the final stage of Operation 12 Queens, in which Russian and Argentine intelligence agencies participated.
“This was a very complex operation with a high level of interaction. Russian police came seven times,” she said.
The minister also added that the total cost of the burned drugs was about 80 million euros.
Information about the discovery of a consignment of cocaine weighing almost kg xnum appeared in Argentine media 400 February. It was reported that the drugs were found in suitcases in the school building of the Russian Embassy in Buenos Aires.
Almost a year went away from operatives to calculate the network of drug dealers. Bullrich then stated that during the joint operation of the Russian and Argentine special services, they managed to stop the supply of drugs to Moscow.
As a result, six people were arrested in connection with the cocaine case. In July, the main suspect, Andrei Kovalchuk, whom investigators consider the organizer of the criminal scheme, was extradited from Germany to Russia.
