Ukrainian dancers conquered the America's Got Talent jury: after the selection, they were immediately taken to the semifinals

Ukrainian dance group from Dnepr Light Balance Kids performed at the selection for the American show America's Got Talent. The teenagers impressed the jury with their performance and made it to the semi-finals of the competition, reports “Ukrainian Truth«.

“Some of our parents, for example my father, are now at war and are fighting for the freedom and independence of our country,” one of the group members noted before the performance.

When asked by one of the jury members about whether she saw the beginning of a full-scale war on February 24, 2022, the girl replied:

"Certainly. I woke up at 4 am. My parents grabbed me and we ran to the subway because there were rockets and bombs everywhere.”
The dancers said that participating in America's Got Talent is "an opportunity to remember a peaceful life." The team already participated in the show in 2017 and took 3rd place at the end of the season.

“We want to show that light always wins, and also demonstrate our winning spirit,” explained the team members.

The number of Ukrainian dancers is made like a video game in the platform genre: they jump and dance at different levels forming a light pattern. At the end of the performance, a drawing of a fortress with two Ukrainian flags and a Ukrainian coat of arms in the middle appears on the stage, accompanied by an image of victorious salutes.

“This was your best performance ever. And I can’t tell you how brilliant it was,” English television presenter and producer Simon Covell commented on the performance.

The jury member, ex-model Heidi Klum, added that she danced the entire number in her place.

“This is a very important message. You came from perhaps the darkest place in the world and crossed the globe to bring us light. And if there’s anything I can do on behalf of America and America’s Got Talent to bring you more light than you brought to us, then I want to do it for you,” said Canadian-American host and comedian Howie Mandel and clicked on the special Golden Buzzer button. It automatically sends the casting participant to the semi-finals of the project.

He went up to the team on stage, while the rest of the jury and the audience in the hall gave the Ukrainians a standing ovation.

The video of the number of Ukrainians became popular on YouTube - in a little more than a day it gained over half a million views.
